Sounds like Josh Duggar is living it up in federal prison… even though he hasn’t earned the right, according to an insider!
The 19 Kids And Counting alum is serving out a federal prison sentence on child porn charges right now at FCI Seagoville, just outside Dallas, Texas. Following his initial 151-month sentence on the charges, he’s got a release date of October 2032. But while he’s inside, life is apparently getting VERY cushy! That’s according to a report from the US Sun on Friday, which quoted an insider who dished all kinds of deets on Josh’s new life!

Per that outlet, the 36-year-old disgraced reality TV star has been moved into a brand new, fully renovated prison dorm that offers inmates special amenities and privileges. An insider explained to the news org that those amenities include washers, dryers, microwaves, and a nice set of landscaping visuals, to boot:
“They finished painting the walls and getting flowers put into Dorm 6, where Josh lives. It’s been turned into an honors dorm. They get special privileges and building updates because it’s an honors dorm. There are washers and dryers, microwaves, and more. They’re trying to create a dorm of model inmates.”
An honors dorm! Nothing wrong with that, right? After all, giving inmates small but tangible rewards for good behavior is a great way to incentivize MORE good behavior.
But here’s the problem: Josh doesn’t qualify to be in that dorm! Not according to the insider, at least. The source noted how inmates who move into Dorm 6 must have a very clean record and a job:z
“[Inmates] can’t have any disciplinary actions in a certain amount of time, have to have a job and must sign a code of conduct agreement.”
But Josh doesn’t work, per the insider, so he doesn’t technically have the qualifications to be in that dorm. Instead, the source claimed that prison officials are using Duggar’s schooling as “an exception” to allow him to stay there:
“Josh apparently doesn’t work, but he is getting a degree and they’re counting that as an exception so he can stay.”
And that’s not all!! Also per the US Sun, the clock is still ticking on a February 2023 incident in which Josh was thrown into the Special Housing Unit, also known as SHU, after he was found with a cell phone on his person that had been snuck into the prison! Seagoville’s SHU is a solitary confinement unit, and very much a place for punishment after infraction violations. Josh did a bid there for about a month on the cell phone issue before being sent back to his regular unit.

But because of that cell phone infraction counting as a disciplinary action, the source is adamant that Josh should not be allowed to live in this cushy new dorm:
“According to the rules, he would be disqualified from living there because of his SHU time a couple of years ago, but they’ve decided to waive that for him.”
Hmm. Kinda reminds one of how law enforcement totally ignored the accusations against Josh the first time thanks to his family connections. Doesn’t it?
FWIW, the outlet also reached out to FCI Seagoville, but an official spokesperson swerved ’em when asked about Josh’s allegedly sweet new dorm digs:
“Unfortunately, FCI Seagoville does not comment on conditions of confinement.”
