The relationship between Julianne Hough and her hubby Brooks Laich has been the subject of much speculation over the past few months — but fans need not worry, according to the dancer’s bestie, Riawna Capri!
The 38-year-old celeb hairstylist addressed the rumors surrounding the couple’s marriage, which was said to have hit a rough patch over the past few months, insisting to People that the twosome still “love each other.”

When asked about the couple while walking the carpet at the 2020 Hollywood Beauty Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, the beauty guru said:
“Everything’s good. They’re, they’re good. They’re both good together. They’re just, you know, they love each other, so it’s a good thing.”
Sounds… good!
Riawna’s very affirmative response is meant to comfort after what we’ve been hearing — and seeing (what happened to your ring, Jul!?) — about the couple’s relationship.
As we reported, sources previously told People the Dancing with the Stars alum and the ex-athlete were having “problems for months,” sharing:
“She’s very independent and a free spirit, and that’s been tough for Brooks and their marriage.”
While the couple have yet to publicly address any marital trouble, Brooks has been subtly shedding some light on the situation on his How Men Think podcast.
In a recent episode, the former NHL star invited popular divorce attorney Laura Wasser for an eyebrow-raising discussion about why couples may choose to divorce. Laich was particularly expressive about how those in relationships “need to continually evolve” and embrace their partners as they change.
Noting how most couples don’t communicate their “desires and cravings” with each other as they should, the 36-year-old said:
“I don’t think a lot of people in their marriage really, really truthfully communicate all the needs and desires and cravings and yearnings they have for themselves, for their partner, all of it. I think they lack a little bit of courage there, to share those things, that could really actually keep people together and light their marriage on fire.”
Fans were quick to unpack that quote, with many wondering if the “changes” Brooks was referring to had anything to do with Julianne confirming she isn’t straight, or if the talk of “desires and cravings” was an allusion to the hockey hunk’s previous admission of not feeling “fully expressed” in his own sexuality in an earlier episode.
Are YOU scared for Brooks and Julianne? Maybe it’ll be good to hear someone who genuinely has some insight into their marriage has nothing but positive things to say about it.
Capri went on to gush about her close bond with Hough, telling the outlet:
“We’re always sending each other pictures on Instagram back and forth of, ‘Ooh, what about this hair? Oh my god, look at this. This is hilarious. Oh my god, this is awful. This is amazing.’ We have really good Instagram DM exchange.”
So, clearly gurl has inside information. The question is: is she being a good friend by not spilling the tea, or is there truly no tea to spill?
We guess we’ll have to wait for Brooks to drop more relationship breadcrumbs on his podcast to find out…
