A former co-star is coming to Justin Baldoni’s defense!
Even before Blake Lively accused the It Ends With Us director/star of sexual harassment and orchestrating a retaliatory smear campaign against her in December, people were taking sides. But after Justin filed his own suit, it seems the majority aren’t on Blake’s anymore! Many are Team Justin after all the evidence and allegations he has dropped about her and her hubby, Ryan Reynolds. That includes someone who once worked with him on Jane The Virgin.

In the comments section of a post on Facebook from Evie Magazine — all about Justin’s image as a “good male feminist” in Hollywood — Irene De Bari voiced her support for him! For those who don’t know, she guest starred on Season 3 of Jane The Virgin as Mother Constantine. And it sounds like what she experienced on the set of the show with Justin was nothing like what Blake claims happened to her during It Ends With Us!
According to Irene, he was nothing but a “gentleman” who was “respectful” when they worked together. Because she had such a positive experience with Justin, it’s hard for her to believe the Gossip Girl alum’s accusations. She wrote in the comments on Sunday:
“I worked with Justin in Jane The Virgin and he was just the perfect gentleman. Extremely considerate and a very generous actor.Very respectful, I cannot imagine him ever behaving in an improper manner with a woman as one of the talks we had was exactly on the subject of always being mindful of women’s sensibilities, especially in our industry.”
Wow!

The following day, Irene continued to defend Justin. She posted a picture of them together from the Jane The Virgin set on her profile, writing in all caps in the caption:
“MY EXPERIENCE OF JUSTIN BALDONI ON SET (JANE THE VIRGIN) WAS THAT HE WAS, AT ALL TIMES, A VERY RESPECTFUL AND GENEROUS ACTOR.”
Until now, Justin has not had a ton of colleagues defending him publicly — not that he needs much help in that department! Not like Blake! While the public is pretty much not on her side, she does have some defenders in Hollywood, including director Paul Feig, Simple Favor co-star Michele Morrone, and WME executive Ari Emanuel.
There are bound to be celebs who also have sided with Justin but maybe just not willing to get involved in the drama online, right? Will they eventually speak up like Irene here as the legal battle continues? Perhaps if that amended complaint from Blake comes out this week? We’ll see.
