Justin Timberlake Snags Plea Deal In DWI Case -- Now Will Plead Guilty To Lesser Charge & Only Pay A FINE!

Justin Timberlake cops plea deal in DWI case

It looks like Justin Timberlake really is getting nothing more than a slap on the wrist for getting behind the wheel drunk!

On Wednesday, sources with direct knowledge told TMZ that the 43-year-old singer got a plea deal in his driving while intoxicated case. Get ready for this rage-inducing agreement, y’all…

The deal will see the DWI charge dropped, with Justin only copping to a lesser charge of driving while ability impaired — a traffic violation which is not a criminal offense. Yeah, you read that right. Even though the word “impaired” is used, it is not considered a drunk driving offense.

What does that mean? The actor will not face any time behind bars! Instead, he has to pay a $300 to $500 fine! That is IT!!! He went from possibly serving up to one year in prison if found guilty to coughing up a few bucks and going about his day! UGH! And according to the sources, the judge has already agreed to and signed off on the deal! The exact fine amount will be set in court on Friday, BTW.

Innerestingly, before the new agreement, Justin pleaded not guilty twice. His attorney, Edward Burke Jr., even vowed to fight the DWI charge — swearing the pop star was “not intoxicated” at the time of the arrest in Sag Harbor in June. Yet a lot of evidence proved otherwise, as he had bloodshot and glassy eyes, the odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath, and more. Not to mention that he failed the field sobriety tests and refused a breathalyzer.

Despite all this, an expert did warn that Burke would try to plead down to the lesser charge of driving while ability impaired. It looks like they were right. We guess his team thought there was a chance that JT wouldn’t get away with it if they continued the legal battle. Reactions to the plea deal, Perezcious readers? Sound OFF (below)!
