Kaitlynn Carter is speaking out for the first time since hers and Miley Cyrus‘ makeout pics have gone public!
Not long after her own split from Brody Jenner was announced, the blogger was a guest on The Hills: New Beginnings costar Whitney Port‘s live podcast, With Whit, at The Grove in El Lay on Thursday to talk about the MTV show.
While Carter didn’t address her romance with Cyrus, she did have enough to say about her hesitancy to star on the revival series with her now ex.

Awkward…
Opening up about being asked to do the show by Spencer Pratt, but later being convinced by Whitney, the 30-year-old shared:
“We took so long to decide to do the show or not… Spencer approached us about it probably two years ago, and it was an automatic no. The reason that I decided [to do] this was because you messaged. You’re like, ‘I’m doing it so I need you to do it.’ So Whitney convinced me to do it.”
She continued about joining Brody on the series:
“It was originally, we thought, kind of a crazy idea to be for Brody to be back on TV and for me to be on there in the first place because it’s not really my comfort zone, but then I also thought it would be fun. The decision really was about for us to spend more time together. He was always on the road DJing, and I was on the road for work. This was a project we would do together.”
It sounds like they were initially struggling to find time together in before their split, though Kaitlynn didn’t touch on the topic of their breakup.
And while she also didn’t reference Miley, who is going through her own separation from Liam Hemsworth, the reality TV newcomer did address her feelings on social media, which she has been active on since posing with the songstress on Instagram.
She explained of negative comments online:
“I think that my philosophy with the show and in life is just to be authentic. You got to just not look at anything.”

Something we’re sure she’s been noticing recently as her fling with the 26-year-old A-lister has become public. Additionally, the lifestyle influencer is worried about being “picked apart”:
“Maybe I need to be more vulnerable on there and open up more and maybe I will… It’s that I’m worried [that] it’ll just get picked apart which I think is what happens a lot of the time. If you share anything, any kind of opinion, it seems like you just get shredded. I’m pretty good about not having that stuff bother me, but… it sets off a whole thing like I feel like my opinion is not [valued].”
We hope she can just live her life the way she wants to, and hopefully Cyrus fans can understand and support them, if they choose to become serious.
For now, as we previously reported, it sounds like the two are “just having fun.”
An ET source spilled:
“Really, only time will tell if Miley and Kaitlynn will last, but right now they are being a support for one another during a tough time and enjoying their time together… [They] are both newly out of their relationships and just having fun.”
How are you feeling about them as a couple, Perezcious readers?? Will you be following along? Or do you think either of them will be getting back with their exes?
