Kansas has been having some monetary problems recently and they are trying to deal with their $500 million revenue deficit.
PETA, thinking that they would lend a hand, offered to pay the state to erect an anti-fishing sign at Miami State Fishing Lake in Fontana. The group said it would then pay rent for the sign as long as the state left it up.
However, Kansas Governor, Mark Parkinson was not too keen on the idea. He said that the states budget issues will require more “substantial solutions.”
Doesn’t every little bit help??
Governor Parkinson’s spokeswoman said that he “appreciates the long-standing history and tradition of fishing in Kansas.”
So basically, rather than helping the deficit by not allowing fishing in one lake, the governor would rather sell off buildings.
Hmm…what do U think about this?
