Kate Gosselin Reacts To Collin's Memoir Bombshells As Estranged Son Continues Hoping For An Apology

Collin Gosselin Sends Warning To 'Spiraling' Mom Kate Ahead Of Memoir Release!

[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content]

Collin Gosselin‘s tell-all book and its disturbing allegations of abuse is out now.

Fans know Collin has been estranged from Kate Gosselin and most of his siblings for years, except his sister Hannah. After his time at a behavioral center, he moved in with his dad Jon in 2018. In recent years, he’s grown more open about his difficult childhood, and now he’s putting it all out there in In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood.

When he first announced his book, he told social media followers:

“For a long time, I wasn’t sure I’d ever tell this story. Growing up, millions of people watched my life on television. People felt like they knew me. They knew my family. They watched me grow up. But there was so much they never saw. For years, I kept those experiences to myself. Some because I was afraid. Some because I didn’t think anyone would believe me. And some because I just wasn’t ready.

Writing this book forced me to revisit some of the hardest moments of my life, but it also gave me something I’ve been searching for for a long time: my voice. This isn’t the story people think they know. It’s the story I’ve lived.”

Collin alleges severe abuse throughout his childhood, including being tied up with zip ties, isolated in the basement, and more. He even once alleged:

“Never forget the fact that my mom would write in her diary how she ‘had to pray to God to stop hitting me’ (this was while I was 2 years old by the way).”

Truly disturbing.

In the aftermath of the book’s release, People magazine captured a response from Kate. On social media a fan wrote to her saying:

“It should be illegal to defame someone that way, but I just wanted to say you are doing a great job keeping your head up through all of this. We love you!”

Kate acknowledged the comment, replying:

“Thank you so much. I know rational logical ppl or anyone who has dealt with mental illness understands what’s going on here”

Meanwhile, Collin sat down with Fox News Digital and shared what he hopes can happen one day:

“I’d like an apology, simply put, an apology and for her to admit, and just take accountability for what she did. And to say, you know, ‘I’m sorry that I’ve soiled your name, and I’ve made every effort to bury you, to protect my reputation,’ I think that’d be very honest and very powerful for her to say that … just show accountability because everything she’s done to protect her reputation, it’s all been at my cost.”

In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood is available online and in bookstores.
