The celebrity world is still reeling following the death of Friends alum Matthew Perry from a ketamine overdose. And now, people all across Hollywood are looking back at how things could have gotten so bad for the beloved comedian.
Among those reflecting on Perry’s death is TMZ, which is producing a documentary set to air this coming Monday called TMZ Investigates: Matthew Perry and the Secret Celebrity Drug Ring. In the doc, the celeb news outlet talks to other stars about the rehab landscape in Hollywood. And one in particular, longtime reality TV personality and daytime television talk show host Kelly Osbourne, has a LOT to say.

In a teaser for the upcoming doc, Ozzy Osbourne‘s daughter recalls going to rehab seven times. Amid those outings, she told TMZ lead Harvey Levin, all rehab ever did for her was teach her “how to be a better drug addict.” WHOA! The 39-year-old matter-of-factly began her interview by stating:
“The first rehab I went to was like university on how to be a better drug addict.”
When Levin pressed her on what she meant, Kelly added:
“I learned so many tricks, so many things that I never even thought of from my fellow addicts that were in there.”
It’s not just the tricks that are learned inside rehab facilities, either. Also present, according to Kelly, is the persistent issue that recovering addicts will put their feet down to demand certain drugs or else they will check themselves out of the center:
“I’d also seen people threaten to leave until they got given what they wanted. Whether it be Ambien for sleep, or Valium for nerves, they would somehow end up getting it.”
Levin quickly picked up on that claim, and noted how the ultimatum leaves these treatment facilities in the unenviable position of needing the addicts’ money to continue to function:
“So the rehab is faced with, ‘Give me the drugs, or I’m gonna leave and you’re gonna lose your $100,000.'”
Osbourne nodded in agreement, and replied by saying the rehab centers then often cave in and give their residents whatever they request:
“Uh-huh. And they end up giving them whatever it is they asked for.”
Whoa.
Now, as you may recall, Perry’s longtime friend Brooke Mueller was recently pretty adamant about the financial motivations involving some of these rehab centers, so Osbourne’s claims may not be far off at all. Jeez.
But Kelly wasn’t done there. She went on in the preview clip to add another chilling claim about how rehab centers allegedly conspire to keep churning out and sending people back for more and more:
“Body brokers. They’ll sit outside of AA meetings looking for weak and vulnerable people that they encourage to go and relapse so that they can then pick you up again.”
Harvey was completely shocked by that claim, and replied:
“I’m sorry, rehab centers will send people to AA meetings so they can entice them to do drugs again so they can go back into rehab? That’s hard to believe.”
But Kelly didn’t back down. Instead, she doubled down:
“I swear on everything that it is true.”
Wow…
