Turns out that time Kevin Gates straight up round-house kicked a female fan in the chest wasn’t self-defense! Imagine that!
You may recall the August 2015 incident where the 2 Phones rapper was caught on video forcefully kicking then-18-year-old Miranda Dixon after she reached out to touch his shorts while he was on stage in Lakeland, FL.
He later tried to defend himself under Florida’s controversial “Stand Your Ground” law, claiming he used “necessary force” to protect himself from Dixon.

Listening to Miranda’s testimony on Wednesday, the jury found the 30-year-old guilty of misdemeanor battery and he was sentenced to 180 days in jail.
To top it off, the state reportedly only asked the judge that Gates serve just 60 days in jail, with one year of probation, and mandatory anger management classes — but that request was TRIPLED to the now 180 days. Woof!
CORRECTION: Prosecution asked for 60 days in prison, so the judge actually sentenced @iamkevingates to TRIPLE that amount. @FOX13News https://t.co/omhADqSOzw
