The filmmaker beats the widowmaker!
Three days after surviving a near fatal heart attack, Kevin Smith has returned home from the hospital and is feeling better than ever!
The Clerks director gave fans an update on his health in an Instagram post on Wednesday, noting that his heart is “feeling good” and “getting more blood flow and oxygen than it has in a long time.”
As we reported, Smith had a life saving operation this week after doctors discovered he had a 100% blockage of the left anterior descending artery.

The 47-year-old made an emergency trip to the hospital after struggling to breathe during a stand up set on Sunday. Doctors learned he had a heart attack terrifyingly known as the “widowmaker,” and performed an operation to put a stent in.
In the meantime, Smith’s social media pages have been showered with support from his friends and fans, which left the director feeling “touched.”
Smith thanked his supporters for their messages and poignant stories in his post, particularly Chris Pratt “for the prayers.” (A message to the godless haters who criticized the Christian actor for tweeting that he was “praying” for Smith.)
