Things weren’t peaceful between Kourtney Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner when she became her stepparent!
During a new episode of the Khloé in Wonder Land podcast on Wednesday, Khloé Kardashian and the Poosh founder opened up about their relationship with the Olympian after their mom, Kris Jenner, divorced their late dad, Robert Kardashian in 1991 when they were kids! And it sounds like they didn’t have the same dynamic! The Kocktails with Khloé alum felt Caitlyn understood “so well” not to try to act like their father back then:
“[Caitlyn] never tried to be Dad and I always appreciated and respected that.”

However, Kourt disagreed! She felt her experience living with Caitlyn was different than her other siblings! She replied:
“OK, so, that wasn’t my experience, but maybe that’s why it became your experience. So [I’m] grateful for that for you.”
According to the 46-year-old reality star, Caitlyn didn’t “try to be Dad.” No, the issue for her was that the former athlete “tried to be controlling and bossy” and would not allow “certain friends” to come over. They would even get into screaming matches with each other over these issues. Kourtney recalled:
“I would be like, ‘I wanna call my Dad,’ and [Caitlyn] would hang up the phone. We would have yelling wars.”
Yikes! That is rough! Things became so tumultuous between Kourt and Caitlyn that Travis Barker’s wife moved in with Robert. And all along, Khloé had no idea about any of this! In fact, she assumed her older sister “didn’t connect” with their stepparent because she “was replacing Dad” — “not that” she did, “no one could replace Dad.”
Blending big families is not an easy feat! Even Kourtney knows this now that she and Travis are a family of seven! We can imagine it was hard for Caitlyn to balance the role of a stepparent at first, but it sounds like she eventually figured out for Khloé! The
Khloud founder speculated:
“I had such a different experience. But maybe mom had a talk with him. Maybe your retraction taught him something, so maybe it was a lesson for everyone.”
