Kyle Richards Was 'Nervous' A Nude Pic Would Surface When She Joined RHOBH -- So She's Posting It Now! Here's Why!

Kyle Richards posts empowering nude pic

Kyle Richards is a woman and she’s damn proud of it!

On Monday, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared a stunning nude throwback portrait of herself, admitting that, years, ago, the portrait’s very existence made her “nervous.”

So why would she post it now, you ask? Well, because she was inspired by a viral Women Supporting Women Instagram challenge. For those who haven’t seen, the social media movement aimed for women to celebrate themselves and each other by challenging participants to post a black and white photo and nominate other women they know and admire to do the same. It has since been exposed for its true meaning, which goes much deeper. It was originally a campaign inspired by both the disgusting violence against women in Turkey and the brutal murder of a 27-year-old student named Pinar Gültekin.

Back to Kyle…

Richards’ post was empowering, as it showed how even the most badass women have been conditioned to be ashamed of their sexuality and feel the need to cover up their bodies. Her caption began:

“I struggled to post a photo because I didn’t understand what’s so ‘challenging’ about posting a black and white photo of ourselves. But so many of the wonderful women in my life messaged me ‘challenging’ me ( I tagged them) So I decided to post this picture.”

The 51-year-old explained that the pic — in which she wore nothing but a black hat and heels as she covered her breasts with her hand and leg — was taken years ago for her husband, Mauricio Umansky, for Valentine’s Day and haunted her for years.

She wrote:

“About this picture…I took this picture for my husband for Valentine’s Day one year. I was nervous to take it and then when I was asked to do #RHOBH I was nervous to accept doing the show because I was worried this photo would surface. I thought it was THAT risqué!! How scandalous! ??”

But now, a decade later, the mother-of-four feels “empowered” to share the image with her 3 million followers.

She continued:

“Now here I am posting it because it DOES make me feel empowered! I am proud to come from a family of all women , fortunate to be surrounded by such amazing women in my life and to be the mother of 4 incredible women and soon to be woman ( Portia) Thank you to all the women that support me & love me. I love, support & appreciate you ?❤️#challengeaccepted.”

Ch-ch-check out the beautiful photo (below)!

Richards isn’t the only celeb who’s participated in the Women Supporting Women challenge. Jennifer Aniston, Kerry Washington, and Florence Pugh are just a few of the many stars who are also celebrating their divine femininity on the ‘Gram — and have since spoken out about the Turkish women, and femicide in the country.
