A falling out with your bestie may sound like the end of the world. But Kylie Jenner is actually thankful she and Jordyn Woods went through it!
As Perezcious readers know, the pair was once inseparable. In fact, they were so close that they even lived together at one point! However, everything came crashing down in February 2019 when Jordyn was seen kissing Kylie’s sister Khloé Kardashian’s then-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, during a party. And there were rumors it was an ongoing thing!

This was a huge betrayal, a total violation of girl code. Kylie didn’t publicly condemn her bestie or anything, but their friendship fizzled out afterward. No one saw them together for years following the cheating scandal.
All that changed last year, tho! Kylie and Jordyn sent the internet into a frenzy when they went on a sushi date in Los Angeles in July 2023! And it turned out that wasn’t the first time they were hanging out, either! We later learned the two “always stayed in touch,” and they have even continued to hang out since the first sighting. That said, they still aren’t as tight as they once were!
In a new interview for Elle published on Wednesday, the Khy founder opened up about the friendship drama with Jordyn. Reflecting on the schism, Kylie remembered the falling out hurt so much at the time — but in the long run? She recognized it really helped both of them to “grow.” The reality star explained:
“I was heartbroken. We’ve always tried to talk through things, so it’s never been a full cold-turkey cutoff; it was needed distance. Anytime something happened, good or bad, and I needed to call someone, it would always be her. To lose that person felt really lonely, but I had to go through that.”
Losing your most trusted confidant… it’s worse than a breakup, honestly!
However, in the case of Kylie and Jordyn, the “distance” ultimately was for the best. Even the makeup mogul can admit that. She continued:
“I learned so much, gained so much independence, and was there for myself. It helped me grow up a little bit, because we were so attached at the hip. I think that in order for us both to grow, she needed to spread her wings and do what she needed to do as well.”
Well said. Taking a break from a friendship is tough on anyone, but it sounds like this one was necessary and healthy. And from what Kylie says, it did Jordyn a lot of good, too! They both came out stronger on the other side of the scandal. Thoughts, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments.
