Lamar Odom's Condition Continues To Improve -- Reportedly Attempting Speech As He Makes 'Great Progress'

Lamar continues to show signs of improvement!
Lamar Odom
is on the road to recovery since waking up from his coma on Friday.
While his condition is still serious, the former NBA star is definitely improving.
As for updates, it’s been revealed he passed a swallow test, which shows he is able to swallow on his own, and is also seen as a sign of neurological function.

And while the 35-year-old continues to wear a non-rebreather mask, he is breathing on his own!
Lamar is definitely making strides, and as of Sunday, it was being said that he was even helped out of his hospital bed and moved to a chair, all without breathing struggles.
He also reportedly continues to communicate with hand signals, but has attempted speaking, which comes through as mumbles. Though another source provides that Odom was “speaking sentences” and was able to text from his bed.
Regardless, his health is “heading in the right direction. This is great progress but there is always the possibility for setbacks.”
We’re thrilled to hear that!
And it sounds like the father of two will have Khloe Kardashian by his side the whole way. We reported earlier that his estranged wife hasn’t left his side, and supposedly vowed to stay by him during his rehabilitation process.
In addition to this, Lamar’s maternal aunt, JaNean Mercer, released a statement Monday:

“Lamar has always been blessed with a tenacious, fighting spirit, overcoming insurmountable obstacles to achieve the impossible. These past few days have been no different. He is defying the odds in his toughest battle to date with God’s grace. Each day Lamar is getting stronger and reaching significant milestones in his recovery. We are committed to remaining by his side as a family for our champion, who we love immensely. Your continued prayers and well wishes have been the fuel to keep us going, and for that we are eternally grateful.”

We’re wishing Lamar continued improvements in his recovery, and our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
