Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian‘s reunion wasn’t the start of a fresh new chapter for them — no matter how much the NBA star wishes it was!
The exes reunited for the first time in years on-screen in the new season of The Kardashians. It was super awkward as Lamar showed up late — only to arrive with champagne, flowers, and a cake for their wedding anniversary despite being divorced. He even called KoKo his “wife,” which she promptly shut down.

While they were able to have an honest conversation about the dramatic end to their relationship — and we’re sure that was cathartic for them both — it doesn’t mean they’re planning to become friends. In fact, the ONLY reason the Good American founder agreed to this was to save the Hulu series!
According to a source close to the model who spoke with The US Sun on Friday, the exes, who finalized their split in 2016, filmed the scene several months ago in 2024. Their relationship “hasn’t gone any further” since Lamar was “escorted out the door.” Oof. The insider dished:
“It just makes her uncomfortable, especially when he was slipping up and calling her his wife. She just wanted to get him out of there.”
That is a little awk! She’s worked so hard to move on, and here he comes with an anniversary cake. LOLz!
Lamar, apparently, didn’t realize just how challenging the interaction was for his ex, though, because he’s reached out to her several times since — but keeps getting ghosted! The insider added:
“He has reached out to Khloe a few times on messages, but she doesn’t want to engage.”
Brutal!
But it’s maybe not shocking? You see, the reunion was “all staged for a good storyline” — and it would never have happened off camera. A source previously told the outlet that it was Kris Jenner and the other producers’ idea to boost ratings, the confidant said:
“[Khloé] was once the viewers’ favorite because her life was quite messy, and she was always open and raw on the show. But not now.”
They added:
“Now the other sisters have less time to film, and in the absence of any love life or drama with Khloe, Kris is resorting to bringing back Lamar and making that the big storyline. If it doesn’t secure another season, it’s hoped it’ll boost her podcast.”
The mother of two made it pretty clear even in the show that she didn’t want to see Lamar at all, so we’re not surprised this was just for views. Poor Lamar got his hopes up, though!
