We’re so happy for Lea Michele.
The tragic loss of her longtime boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith back in 2013 understandably left the 29-year-old actress — and fans everywhere — devastated.
Now, two and a half years later, the Scream Queens star has found love and happiness again with beau Matt Paetz — a relationship she believes Cory would approve of.

In a appearance on the Fempire podcast with hosts Becca Tobin (Lea’s bestie), Keltie Knight, and Jac Vanek, Miz Michele couldn’t help but gush about her 30-year-old love:
“At the end of the day, this industry is really tough, and the only way to get through is to create a solid unit, and that’s really what we’ve been since day one. We’ve stood by each other through anything that was thrown our way. [Matt] is a such a great man that he would never really let anything like that ever crack our lovely little core that we’ve created.”
Paetz also completely respects Michele’s past relationship and loss:
“He is very respectful towards the person that I was with, and that, again, is something I love so much about him. I really know that Cory would love him too.”
All the feels!!
On a lighter note, the NYC native also admitted that one of her biggest goals is to become BFFs with Chrissy Teigen and John Legend:
“I really would love to be best friends with Chrissy Teigen. I feel like she would cook for me, she would defend bullies for me. I would go to their house and John Legend would be singing or naked in a shower somewhere├óΓé¼┬ª I feel like me and Matt would be really good friends with them.”
