The Academy Award winning actor has largely lived the bachelor life across his 51 years — and when he’s off the market, it’s infamously with a young woman under 25 years old. But over the past few years, we’ve seen a shift as he’s finally broken that infamous trend with model girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, who turns 28 in June!
There must be something pretty special about her, right?? Not only has Leo broken his so-called rule, but he’s been dating her for nearly three whole years! Impressive for a man who has famously been commitment averse. So what does this all mean for the long run?
On Tuesday, a source spoke to People about the couple after their appearance at the 2026 Oscars over the weekend. And they had some exciting deets about their relationship:
“This relationship with Vittoria does feel different and more serious. He genuinely cares for her.”
No offense, ex-girlfriends! LOLz! So does this mean he’s ready to settle down? Well, not right away… but the One Battle After Another star also isn’t ruling things out:
“They may not be ready to get married, but for the first time, Leo is open to a serious future.”
That’s HUGE for the Titanic star!
So why exactly does she feel so “different” in comparison to other women from Leo’s past? Well, the insider revealed she “has her own life,” which is a BIG green flag for The Revenant actor. The insider noted she’s “very independent,” which is crucial as the actor often “has long days on set.”
So basically, it sounds like Leo appreciates that she doesn’t crowd his space.
The insider also noted that friends of the Don’t Look Up star have also observed that he’s “much more openly affectionate” with the 27-year-old than any previous girlfriend.
So an independent gal who still prioritizes affection? We guess that balance is what’s been missing for Leo all along!
We previously heard that the Killers of the Flower Moon actor’s mom Irmelin Indenbirken had struck up quite the friendship with Vittoria, which helped nudge him to keep things going. An insider told The Sun in October:
“Immediately she struck up a strong bond with his mother, plus she is very in demand — she’s the one with the full diary and jet-set life, not just following him around.”
