Got A Tip?

Star Seeker

Chimpanzee

Louis The Chimpanzee, Former Commercial Star, Dies

Louis the chimpanzee was a former UK TV commercial star in the ’70s and ’80s, starring in ads for PG Tips, a brand of tea.

The ads, or adverts as the Brits say, were spy parodies.

Louis would play Brooke Bond, a parody of James Bond and it’s so CUTE!

Sadly, Louis has passed away at the ripe age of 37 after a short illness.

He was living at the Twycross Zoo since he retired in 2002, thanks to an animal activist campaign. He is currently being mourned by Choppers, his partner on-screen and in real life.

Dr. Charlotte MacDonald of the Twycross Zoo said:

“Although gone, Louis will never be forgotten ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ he will always be a member of our Twycross Zoo chimp family.

Choppers is doing well and will be monitored closely over the next couple of weeks by the animal team. She will be introduced to some of the other chimps in the near future.”

Aww├óΓé¼┬ª it’s so sad Louis is gone but thankfully the zoo keepers will be taking care of his lady!

At least he’ll be immortalized in those old commercials!
