Love Is Blind’s Ashley Adionser is speaking out about the sperm donor drama surrounding Tyler Francis and the mother of his kids!
Those who watched Season 7 of the show will recall that following their engagement in the pods, Tyler revealed to Ashley that he helped a friend and her wife have children — but insisted he was only a sperm donor and the three kids never met him. However, it turned out that he lied! He was a lot more than just a sperm donor.

First off, Tyler appears in a bunch of pictures online with kiddos. Then, the mother of the children Bri Thomas hopped on Instagram to expose what really happened with Tyler. She claimed he was a sperm donor for her first child. But once her partner dumped her, Tyler asked to be a father to them. He and Bri then became romantically involved and welcomed twins. From that point on, the pair acted as co-parents and even lived together! When Tyler decided to go on Love Is Blind, Bri supported him. The second he left, though, he never contacted the kids again.

For his part, Tyler addressed all the speculation during the reunion. He said:
“I did help a friend and her wife start a family, but her wife ended up leaving her and left her high and dry. This was my very close friend, so I stepped in, voluntarily stepped in, and helped. There are pictures of me around. You’ll see me around. I’ve spent the holidays with all my friends, you know, all their kids. And I played a part that became very shaky with a friend.”
The reality star also insisted Ashley knew everything… eventually. Again, this man did lie about the situation on camera first! It is a massive red flag, but she married him anyway! Now, she is stuck in the middle of all this drama. So what does she have to say about it? A LOT, actually! She did not hold back while appearing on The Viall Files on Wednesday! Ashley even had a major update about the situation, too!
On the episode, the 32-year-old television personality told Nick Viall the mom of Tyler’s kids reached out to her after the bombshell reveal! OMG! What did she say? Bri apparently took a moment to apologize to Ashley! She said:
“I will say she wrote me on Instagram and apologized to me and Tyler. [She] said she’s praying for us and she never meant for it to go this way. She won’t say too much on this forum. She also wrote me and said it was OK if I never wanted to respond and she knows my world is crazy right now and she never intentionally meant to cause me any pain.”
Wow. That was very admirable of Bri to do. What happened came as a total shock to Ashley. However, she still “welcomed this” due to her love for Tyler. And moving forward, she would not object to talking with the baby momma in person:
“If we never talk to [the woman] or the kids again, it’s still a thing. I wouldn’t mind having a sit-down with [her]. I want to know what the motive is here, like, even his mom. When I talked to her, she was like, ‘It is exactly what he’s saying,’ and it used to be so uncomfortable for [my mother-in-law].”
Whether Ashley and her mother-in-law will get whatever answers they are looking for, we’ll see. But for now, she just has what Tyler told her… and it’s not the same story Bri shared. She explained on the podcast that her husband only played an “uncle” role to the kids. What! Before going on Love Is Blind, he stepped back from that part due to a lack of “connection.”
Huh?? According to Bri, he was a lot more than an “uncle.” She and Tyler started a romantic relationship and had the twins together. Not to mention that he asked to step up to help raise all three of the children with her. Whether he is willing to admit it or not, these kids are his kids! And just because you cannot connect with them doesn’t mean you walk away from them.
Ashley then said Tyler came clean about his “sperm donor babies” off-camera, which they recapped for the show. When she found out the truth, she could not believe it:
“My heart sank to the ground. He was afraid to tell me because he didn’t want to lose me. I was like, ‘That’s robbery. You robbed me of my choice.’ … I was caught off-guard.”
This is something that definitely should have been said back in pods – before they got engaged! Her reaction is so fair! Despite feeling blindsided, she still stuck by Tyler and went forward with the wedding. Of course, she got all the information about his past and involvement in the kids’ lives first. And what he told her wasn’t a dealbreaker in the end:
“When I said, ‘I do,’ I said I do to all of it.”
Even the messy stuff! While finding out your man has several kids is hard, that was not the most difficult part for Ashley. It was actually having to watch Tyler “struggle” during all this. She shared:
“Honestly, the hardest part was seeing Tyler struggle during a time that should have been just about our love story. I think once [his friend] apologized, she kind of felt bad. ‘Getting beat up on social media is never fun,’ I told her.”
According to Ashley, Bri only apologized to her and has not contacted Tyler. She claimed he tried to reach out to her through his dog’s Instagram account. However, the mom never responded. Can you blame her? He up and left the kiddos and allegedly lied about your past involvement with them! She is probably PISSED right now!
Ultimately, Ashley said she would “take [Tyler’s] lead” if the kids decided to contact him once they were older. As for where the couple stands in terms of trust following this whole debacle? They repaired it, but it took some time:
“It wasn’t broken, but it was tainted. [We worked through it] just by continuing the conversation. I will say that the pods and the experiment taught us a lot. I’ve never had this great of communication in my entire existence. … There’s no rulebook [for trust], I just had to take a leap of faith and say, ‘OK, I see this man and I know him.’”
We’re glad they were able to work through it in the end. But we cannot help but mainly wonder how Bri and her kids must feel after all this, especially when Ashley and Tyler keep denying he had a huge role in their lives. Watch the podcast episode (below):
