We knew this wasn’t true!
Last week, the internet was abuzz with rumors that Marc Jacobs and his fiance, hot Brazilian businessman Lorenzo Martone, had signed on to do what is being called the gay version of Real Housewives of New York. The show, which will air on Logo, will be “a look at the A-list gay social life in NYC,” and is currently still casting. The producers are reportedly looking for, “couples where one guy is the breadwinner and the other living large on his dime.”
We’d be kinda insulted if we were LoLo, who is an advertising exec and works for his living!
The rumor started when the NY Daily News erroneously reported that the couple had “reportedly signed on to participate.” From there, the rumor snowballed across the web.
When we caught wind of this, we knew it was so far-fetched that there was no way it could be true, and in an effort not to fuel the flame, we ignored it. There was just no way Marc Jacobs would ever sign on to do this; he doesn’t need the publicity, the money, or to degrade his reputation.
And now, a Logo spokesperson confirms that the rumor is “totally false.” Similarly, a spokesperson for Marc Jacobs said, “It’s been causing a lot of confusion. Marc and Lorenzo haven’t been approached about it as far as I know. They don’t have any plans for a reality television show right now.”
And there you have it!
