Who DOESN’T love Mariah Carey‘s All I Want For Christmas Is You?
Mariah says of her 1994 hit and her Christmas album:
“When I realize how that song has become a part of Christmas tradition, it├óΓé¼Γäós crazy to me, thrilling, humbling. You know, I didn├óΓé¼Γäót want to do a Christmas album. It was Tommy [Mottola]├óΓé¼Γäós idea. And I was all, ├óΓé¼╦£Please I├óΓé¼Γäóm a young girl. People don├óΓé¼Γäót do Christmas albums until they are, like, 50. Some sort of last resort.├óΓé¼Γäó But he insisted. ├óΓé¼╦£No, no. Do it. It├óΓé¼Γäóll be a big hit. So I did and it was, and I├óΓé¼Γäóll always be grateful for that.”
And the singer reveals she plans to do a new Christmas recording with her mother, Patricia Carey, a vocal coach and former opera singer!
But is this some sort of “last resort” for Mimoo after lackluster sales of her latest album?
Either way, we hope it’s a hit! We loves some good Christmas music!
