Martin Short has been leaning on Meryl Streep following the tragic death of his daughter.
As we previously reported, the actor’s daughter Katherine Short sadly passed away earlier this year at the age of 42. We can’t imagine what Martin has been going through, of course.
But a source for PageSix says his Only Murders in the Building co-star has been there for him every step of the way. They told the outlet on Sunday:
“They just work so well together. It’s like each one of them is exactly what the other person needs at this stage in life. It all feels incredibly effortless between them.”
Awww… We’re glad to hear they’ve found solace in each other.

The insider continued, expressing how their easygoing relationship has helped in this time of grief, too:
“There’s no friction, no drama, nothing complicated. They genuinely enjoy being together and it just flows naturally.”
They added that Meryl and Martin “have this ease between them that’s really rare”:
“Everybody should be so lucky to find somebody who fits into their life the way they do each other’s. They make each other laugh, they support each other and there’s just a calmness to their relationship. It never feels forced.”
That’s so special to have!
We’re so glad Martin and Meryl have been able to be each other’s rock during such a devastating time.
We continue to send our love to everyone who loved Katherine. We hope her family is able to find peace amid their grief.
