The Australian hottie, who played Captain Kirk’s dad in the new Star Trek, film has signed on to play Thor in the upcoming movie adaptation of the Marvel Comics series!

Thor, which director Kenneth Branagh has described as “a human story right in the center of a big epic scenario,” will also star Samuel L. Jackson and is scheduled for a 2011 release.
