Michael Madsen Files For Restraining Order From Estranged Wife After Accusing Her Of Neglect Leading To Son's Suicide

Michael Madsen Files For Restraining Order From Estranged Wife After Accusing Her Of Neglect Leading To Son's Suicide

Michael Madsen wants the court to keep him and his estranged wife DeAnna Madsen physically separated through the power of the law.

Of course, we have been reporting on the sad case of the 66-year-old Kill Bill actor and his family for some time now. Earlier this week, news dropped that Michael had filed for divorce from DeAnna after nearly three decades together. As part of that filing, he asserted that her allegedly abusive behavior and actions were what drove their son Hudson Madsen to die by suicide at just 26 years old back in 2022. And now, this divorce saga is continuing.

On Tuesday of this week, according to People, the longtime actor officially filed a request for a domestic violence prevention restraining order against DeAnna. The order is for Michael himself, as well as for the estranged couple’s other son, Luke, who is 18 years old. Luke is listed in the filing under the “other protected people” headline.

As you may recall from our coverage earlier this week on the matter, we noted reports that claimed a restraining order filing was coming down the pike. Madsen had written in his initial divorce documents that he intended to officially file for it ASAP, too. And now, well, it appears as though that has happened.

In those initial court docs, Madsen claimed that irreconcilable differences “did not adequately describe the divorce filing.” He accused DeAnna of having led Hudson to die by suicide due to abusive behavior brought on by “her neglect, drinking and alcoholism.” He also strenuously denied domestic violence charges that she’d brought against him weeks before, too. In his statement to the court via attorney Perry Wander, the actor argued instead:

“Respondent also significantly contributed to my personal issues as well. I am a victim in an abusive, co-dependent, and toxic relationship that culminated in the Respondent breaking into my residence and having me wrongfully arrested for DV.”

Obviously, this saga will continue with the divorce petition winding its way through court. Tensions are clearly very high here for everyone involved. Ugh.
