We really hope someone puts a stop to this!!!!
Burnt scraps of Michael Jackson hair, snatched from the infamous Pepsi commercial shoot where MJ’s hair went up in flames, are going to be made into diamonds!!!
WTF????
We had no clue that this was humanly possible, but apparently diamonds can be created from individual hair strands by using the owner’s DNA.
Ralph Cohen, the executive producer on the 1984 Pepsi shoot, helped put out the flames on Michael’s head with his Armani jacket. He then reportedly grabbed the singed scraps of Jackson’s hair and stuffed them into his jacket pockets.
Ew!
After MJ’s passing, Cohen passed the burnt hair follicles over to a celebrity hair collector by the name of John Reznikoff, and Reznikoff contacted the Chicago-based jewler, LifeGem.
Reznikoff is an avid hair collector, having already made diamonds out of Beethoven‘s hair via LifeGem, and has the hair of Abraham Lincoln, Marilyn Monroe and Albert Einstein in his collection!
Says Reznikoff: “The provenance and authenticity of this lock of hair is impeccable, including the highly publicized video showing the original owner of the hair using his Armani jacket to extinguish Jackson’ hair.”
LifeGem is currently sizing up Jackson’s burnt locks and trying to figure out the number of diamonds they can create for a limited sale.
So freaky!!!
