It’s truly a miracle to see all the amazing progress Michelle Money‘s daughter has made in the past couple of weeks!
As you’ll recall, in late March Brielle was admitted into the intensive care unit at a local hospital near her home on life support after suffering “serious brain trauma and a fractured skull” as a result of a horrific skateboarding accident. But after some tough times in the first week or so, it appears things have gotten steadily better for the 15-year-old girl lately… and for that, we are SO happy!

The Bachelor alum herself has taken a step away from social media during her daughter’s recovery (totally understandable!), and so it’s now her ex-husband, Ryan Money, who is delivering all the important updates. And on Monday night, he gave the world a big one: Brielle is now back to eating and talking! Amazing!
The proud poppa updated fans and followers with the news on Instagram, posting the picture (above) showing Brie’s new hospital room, and writing about how his daughter has been taking to this portion of the recovery (below):
“We moved to the NTU and Brielle has come in guns a blazin. Pretty sure that we can confidently say that her personality has not changed. 48 hours ago we had not heard her talk…. and now this. When FaceTiming Ashley and the kids, Ash asked her if I was entertaining her and she said, ‘He’s driving me crazy.’ She also wants ‘coconut redbull,’ ‘Diet Coke’ and ‘Ben & Jerry’s ice cream’ pretty bad.”
Ha!!! Teens will be teens…

Ryan continued from there, adding more to the update about Brie’s impressive early-stage recovery, including some encouraging lower-extremity movement:
“She currently has 3 favorite pastimes: giving the medical staff and myself a hard time, talking about what she wants to drink, or sleeping. As her father, I cannot tell you how happy this makes me. She also had her first food in over 2 weeks. She had some yogurt and some thickened Powerade. She is recognizing many people in the photos that are up in her room. To think back about all the questions we had about her and the extent of her injuries, this helps us know some important things. We are definitely not out of the woods yet on all of this, but to hear her talk, make symmetrical expressions, eat, and move all of her extremities in physical therapy is HUGE and literally nothing short of a miracle. Brielle’s progress in the last 24 hours is absolutely contributed to you prayers. I am SO GRATEFUL for you. I cry many times thinking about how grateful I am. Thank you!”
WOW!!! Simply amazing!
When you hear about things like severe brain injuries, you immediately start to worry about speech, motor skills, limb function… we’re sure she has a LONG way left to go, but to hear this about the amazing teenager already certainly is GREAT news!!!
We are over the moon happy for Michelle and Ryan as their daughter continues to recover… and for Brie herself, who is a freakin’ rock star! Such an incredible miracle! Here’s to continued steady recovery and hopefully a return to normal life from here!!!
