We’re not surprised by this at all!
Following Sunday night’s star-studded VMAs, we couldn’t believe all of the iconic pop culture moments that had just taken take place.
And while we still don’t have the ratings for the Miley Cyrus-hosted event yet, some numbers are in that may be even more relevant to the current generation.

That’s because (aside from the Super Bowl) the MTV awards show just became the most talked-about TV program on Twitter ever!
According to Nielsen, this year’s VMAs saw 21.4 million tweets in the 2.5 hour broadcast, up 69 percent from last year’s shoddy 12.6.
But was it Miley’s nipple, Nicki Minaj‘s feud, Taylor Swift‘s surprise appearance, or Kanye West‘s presidential announcement that caused the most social media buzz??
President Kanye, of course!!
In fact, there were 247,525 tweets in the single minute when Yeezus made his 2020 promise.
These insanely high Twitter digits just may mean even higher ratings, which would guarantee Miley another year at the helm!
Were these your favorite VMAs in history??
