January Jones has a bone to pick with United Airlines… And the whole internet has a bone to pick with January Jones!
The Mad Men alum has stirred up controversy after taking to her Instagram Story over the weekend to complain about a grueling 16-hour flight delay, and United Airlines’ attempt at making it right. If you haven’t heard anything about this, the airline compensated travelers for their time with… Drumroll, please… a $15 voucher for airport food. Yikes!
An unimpressed January decided to blast them online for it. She posted a screenshot on her IG Story showing her flight had been delayed 16 hours and 25 minutes and wrote:
“Do better @untied. A couple $15 food vouchers isn’t gonna cut it. Our 7:30p flt last night still hasn’t left.”

Oof…
She followed up the post with another — this time a shot of her curled up on the floor at the gate waiting for her boarding time. Seemingly taking a dig at Donald Trump and Elon Musk‘s firing spree, she wrote:
“Is there still a secretary of transportation? Can’t remember what’s left.”

We definitely don’t envy her! We mean, who wouldn’t be upset about having to stay the night at the airport because your flight got delayed? And to only receive $15? That’s not even one dollar per hour! Every passenger treated this way has every right to be incensed!
Except, well… no one wants to hear a rich person complain, we guess?
Netizens quickly turned on January for complaining when she has an estimated net worth of $10 million:
“How much is worth her disappointment? 1 million I guess”
“Ungrateful ass”
“Girl, do you want your plane to crash. Take the voucher and go.”
“champagne problems”
“damn United even messing with January jones how the rest of us gonna get by”
“‘Do better’ is the most condescending & annoying sentence ever”
“Omg. Don’t be dramatic January. Sht happens. If you didn’t want to wait you could have found alternative flight.”
Yeesh! Some, however, agreed that United’s attempt to make things right was SEVERELY lacking — no matter who they’re doing it to:
“United really said ‘here’s enough for half a sandwich, enjoy your 16-hour wait’ airlines gotta chill with these delays fr”
“16 hours and they think $15 covers it? That’s rough.”
“That’s 94 cents per hour, enough to buy a gumball every hour and chew away your frustration!”
“She’s not wrong.”
In response to the backlash — the delay one, not the TV star complaining one — United Airlines issued the following statement:
“On Saturday, SkyWest Flight 5087, operating as United Express from Los Angeles International Airport to Prescott Regional Airport was delayed overnight due to a mechanical issue. Passengers were provided with hotel and meal vouchers and compensation before the flight departed Sunday on a different aircraft. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
We hope the “hotel and meal vouchers and compensation” was more than that $15! If not for January’s sake then for everyone else’s!
What are your thoughts, Perezcious readers?
