Miranda Lambert & Maren Morris Declare They're 'Way Too Pretty For Prison' In New Song -- Listen!

Miranda Lambert & Maren Morris debut a new song together.

You better think twice before crossing Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris!

The country music superstars recently teamed up for their brand new single, Way Too Pretty For Prison, which features a fun, comedic take on wanting to get revenge on a cheating boyfriend — but not at the risk of doing hard jail time!

The song’s debut on Monday comes months after the ladies first teased the highly-anticipated collaboration.

On the track, the women keep it real about wanting to commit murder by slipping arsenic in an unfaithful lover’s drink. They sang:

“He cheated, he’s a villain / And you know I’d help you kill him / But we’re way too pretty for prison / Hard time ain’t our kind of livin”

Luckily for the fictitious guy mentioned, Miranda and Maren’s better judgement kicks in when they realize prison won’t have some of their favorite amenities — including boys, booze, and bling!

“They don’t have rhinestone ball and chains / Lunch trays don’t come with Chardonnay / The bars there ain’t got boys to buy us drinks”

Yeah, we’re pretty certain the local commissary won’t have any of those items. LOLz.

The girl-gang anthem is the latest drop from Lambert’s upcoming album, Wildcard, following previous singles Mess With My Head, It All Comes Out in the Wash, Locomotive, and Bluebird — which were all released over the last few months. The 35-year-old’s eighth studio album is reportedly coming out this fall on November 1, around the same time the gal pals are set to go on tour together.

The Tin Man singer explained why she tapped Morris for the country number in an interview with iHeart Radio back in July. She said:

“This new record has so many little details on it that become my favorites every time I listen, but one of those details is a fellow Texan and labelmate. My friend Maren Morris sang on a song with me that I also wrote with The Love Junkies, and I knew from the second we were writing it that I would love to have Maren on it. It popped in my head right away before the song was even done. So, I asked her to come in and sing on it.”

The songstress revealed Way Too Pretty For Prison is actually based on a memorable girls’ night with Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, adding:

“We were having a wine night, and I always tell all of my friends leaving, ‘Don’t leave if you’ve been drinking, because you’re too pretty for prison.’ So, thanks Karen, for sharing that wine bottle with me and for taking an Uber.”

In another interview with Billboard, Blake Shelton‘s ex admitted the Big Apple served as a heavy musical influence for her, too. She dished:

“This record has a lot of little rock ‘n’ roll influences in it. I think spending a lot of time in New York City kind of brought that into my art. I’ve also been on a huge rock ‘n’ roll kick lately. I’ve been on a Fleetwood Mac, Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin kick, so I think some of that’s reflected as well. I love that about that city — you can kind of just walk down the street and stumble into somewhere that has something amazing happening. I love the energy of that city and just the inspiration you can get if you look for it.”

As you know, the singer-songwriter and husband Brendan McLoughlin split their time between staying in New York — where the NYPD cop works and his infant son from a previous relationship currently lives — and Nashville, where Lambert permanently resides.

Despite what the haters say about their surprise, quickie marriage, it sounds like the guy is proving to be a good influence — musically, at least!

And as for the song, it’s hard to say if it’ll top Megan Thee Stallion‘s acclaimed Hot Girl Summer, but hey — we’ll let you decide!
