We mentioned last week that Aurora Las Encinas Hospital, the Dr. Drew Pinsky-endorsed rehab facility in Pasadena, CA, is under investigation after 3 deaths and the rape of a 16-year old girl happened within weeks of one another.
Well, it looks like Dr. Drew is starting to do the distancing dance!
Prior to the scandal, the doc’s photo was featured prominently on the hospital’s website.
Pinksky’s photo disappeared from the hospital’s site on Friday, as the scandal story started to get more legs.
Pinsky told the LA Times on Thursday, “It’s not my hospital,” and added that he thought it was a “bizarre misconception” that people associated him with Las Encinas. He also went on to say, “we make a point of not promoting the fact . . . that we work there.”
When the reporter told Pinsky he was the only physician with a photo on Las Encinas’ website home page, Dr. Drew claimed said he was unaware of that.
The Pinsky bio posted on the websites for his radio show Loveline and VH1’s Celebrity Rehab , however, stated:
“He is currently the Medical Director for the Department of Chemical Dependency Services at Las Encinas Hospital, a world-renowned psychiatric facility in Pasadena known for treating celebrity patients”
