This is such tragic news.
Morgan Freeman‘s family is grieving after his granddaughter E’dena Hines was stabbed to death in New York early Sunday morning.
Apparently, the 33-year-old was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen before being found and taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Morgan released as statement about the horrific murder, saying:
“The world will never know her artistry and talent, and how much she had to offer. Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person. Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace.”
E’Dina was an actress herself, having attended NYU‘s graduate acting program, and even went to some Hollywood events with her Grandfather, like the 2005 Golden Globes as well as the Dark Knight premiere.
A man was detained at the scene, but was not charged with the crime, and the NYPD have no leads at the moment.
