It’s about time.
Former X Factor New Zealand judges Natalia Kills and her hubby Willy Moon were both fired from the reality show for bullying contestant Joe Irvine in very harsh ways — none of their comments were there to help and improve Joe in the future…
They were just straight up hurtful.
But the two have finally each released separate apology statements! Though, it does sound like they released them because they’re tired of the bad publicity — instead of truly seeing the error in their ways.
Natalia took to Twitter last Wednesday night with a caption that said “at last! I am relieved that I’m finally able to break the silence… xoxo” before revealing a statement that read:
“A lot goes on behind the scenes of a reality TV show and you see isn’t always the whole story. The show brought me on to bring my passion, dramatic expression and perspective. I was encouraged to be outspoken and things got out of hand. Joe, I hope you can forgive me and I wish you all the best! Be natural, unconventional and be you! Love, Natalia Kills.”
Basically: “They knew what they were getting into when they hired me, but sorry anyway.”
And it wasn’t just Kills who released a statement but her husband Willy, as well!

Here’s what he shared on Twitter:
“The ‘reality’ of reality TV is that there’s a lot the viewer doesn’t see. The show encourages judges to be forthright and highly opinionated. It went too far and I never intended to single out anyone. I wish the contestants, crew, and particularly Joe, all the best. With love, Willy Moon.
Hmmm. No real direct apology, and if you compare his statement with Natalia’s… it’s basically the same thing with some of the words changed:
– Behind the scenes of reality TV things happen people don’t see
– The show hired us to be opinionated
– Things “got out of hand” and “went too far”
It’s basically like one drafted response that they barely tweaked to separate from each other. And to us, that feels hollow.
