Someone was clearly listening to Melissa Etheridge!
New Hampshire finally agreed on a bill that would legalize medical marijuana, making them the last state in New England to do so.
Governor Maggie Hassan made a statement, saying:
“Allowing doctors to provide relief to patients through the use of appropriately regulated and dispensed medical marijuana is the compassionate and right policy for the State of New Hampshire. [The compromise] addresses the concerns that I have heard and expressed throughout this session, and provides the level of regulation needed for the use of medical marijuana.├óΓé¼┬¥
Get those people the help they need!
The new law will allow four marijuana dispensaries to open, starting in 2015 for patients who have state-issued identity cards.
Where they compromised are provisions stating that people can grow their own marijuana, it can’t be used for PTSD and only five patients at a time can be treated.
It’s pretty restrictive, but it’s showing progress!
