As we mentioned earlier this week, the deadly fires in Victoria, Australia have caused so much damage and death down under.
In a kind gesture for her homeland, Nicole Kidman and her hubby, Keith Urban, have just donated A$500,000 (about $300,000 US) to the bushfire appeal.
The giving couple is currently out of their country, but they appeared via a satellite link during a live telethon by the Red Cross.
Urban said, “Our hearts go out tonight to all the families that are dealing with the loss of loved ones and having to rebuild their lives again.”
As for Kidman, she added, “As Australians, I think the biggest thing is that no matter where you are in the world, we support each other and we rally. That’s why we wanted to show our support and we would like to donate A$500,000 on behalf of our family to the families that need it now.”
Currently, more than 1,000 homes have been destroyed, 181 people have died as well as countless animals, and hundreds more have been injured.
And, sadly, police now believe the fires were set by arsonists.
