Nicole Kidman is trying to come to terms with her fractured relationship with two oldest children.
According to reports, the difficulty in connecting with 24-year-old Connor and 26-year-old Isabella has come around only after her split from Tom Cruise, when both kids “chose to immerse themselves” in Scientology. In a new report out on DailyMail.com on Sunday, focus sharpens on the Australian actress’ two adopted children, and their close-knit relationship with Cruise. Kidman, who may well be considered a “suppressive person” by the faith, even missed out on daughter Isabella’s wedding back in 2015, despite being in the same city at the same time as the ceremony.
Kidman, who split with Cruise back in 2001, has been sure to be polite and proper in public about the entire situation, at one point telling Who.com.au, “they have made choices to be Scientologists. It’s our job as a parent to always offer unconditional love.”
Hmmm… She followed that up more recently with a quote published in an interview with Red magazine, in which she said (below):
“Motherhood is about the journey. There are going to be incredible peaks and valleys, whether you are an adopting mother or a birth mother. What a child needs is love. It’s not about anything else other than, ‘I’m here to love and support you.'”
Sounds nice, for sure.
But of course, she’s still consistently been shut out of family events — like when she was further rumored to have been banned from son Connor’s wedding to bride Silvia, who is allegedly a leader of the Italian arm of the Church of Scientology.

Rumors at the time alleged Tom was behind the banning, though it’s unclear what role he actually played (if any) in Kidman not being involved in that wedding. Regardless, the Australian film star has thus far stayed remarkably quiet about Scientology’s alleged effect on her children and her family, though these reports now suggest it’s had a larger and more subversive effect on her than what was previously known.
