After hearing what insider’s have had to say about Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s wedding this weekend, we can really only think of one weird to describe it :
Magical!
More details have emerged about the happy nuptials and we’re thinking that this will go down as one of the weddings of the year!
Sources have shared some more interesting tidbits about the rumored Marchesa gown Nicole supposedly wore, claiming that the lace dress was in a very “80’s style” and was a custom-made turtleneck dress.
Guests report that the couple insisted on an “Old Hollywood, glamorous feel to their wedding,” with Joel forgoing his usual rocker look for something more classy. The wedding was said to be relatively small, about 130 people, with celebs like Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Kris Jenner, Khlo├â┬⌐ Kardashian, Ellen Pompeo and Pete Wentz in attendance.
As for the wedding party, Samantha Ronson stepped in as a bridesmaid and Joel’s brother Benji Madden served as the best man. Of course, as previously reported, the couple’s daughter Harlow brought her cuteness to the event as flower girl and none other that Run-DMC’s Rev Run officiated the ceremony!
And as for that rumor that Nicole’s papa Lionel Richie had an elephant brought in for the ceremony, we’re told that it’s absolutely TRUE! It was apparently a huge surprise for his little girl!
Speaking of which, the highlight of the ceremony (at least the way we see it), was Nicole’s walk down the aisle. Sources confirm the Nicole requested her father’s 1986 hit song Ballerina Girl be played for the occasion! Then, at the reception, Lionel reportedly sang You Are to his girl and his new son-in-law!
So sweet! We’ve got tears in our eyes just thinking about how special that moment probably was.
