Amy Winehouse’s record label, Universal, has given her an ultimatum — quit the drugs or else NO NEW RECORD RELEASE! No new record release = no more money for drugs.
Kudos to them, we say!
The label’s European head honcho, Lucian Grainge, made a similar threat earlier this year to get her into rehab after the pics and video surfaced of Wino smoking crack.
Unfortuantely, we’ve all been watching Amy go back to her old ways recently.
An insider reports that Universal stepped up again to remind her of their deal. They say, “Amy has been reminded of her responsibilities. Unless she is clean she will not be allowed to release another album. She took notice when Lucian talked to her earlier in the year and agreed to go to rehab. But she didn├óΓé¼Γäót take it seriously enough.”
We’re wondering if Universal’s ultimatum will shake Amy straight. We’re hopeful, but we wouldn’t bet the house on it……especially if Blake gets out of prison soon.
This weekend it was reported that we’d have to wait til 2009 for Winehouse’s 3rd album because she scrapped the recent plans to record it in the Bahamas.
We really hope we see that 3rd album! We really hope she’s alive to make it and promote it!
