Alejandro G. Iñárritu took home the award for Best Director tonight thanks to his work at the helm of The Revenant!

The director is no stranger to the Oscars, of course, but this time around his speech added a little fire about #OscarsSoWhite — and a special message for Leonardo DiCaprio!
The director edged out quite the group of competitors: Adam McKay (The Big Short), George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road), Lenny Abrahamson (Room), and Tom McCarthy (Spotlight).
Ch-ch-check it out (above) as Iñárritu totally ignored the play-off music to deliver a very important point about diversity in film!!
