Pete Davidson is paying tribute to his late father in a rare public sighting!
The comedian, who checked into a mental health facility over the summer, was spotted publicly for the first time in months on Wednesday. He was seen with his pal Machine Gun Kelly at a sneak preview of The Room at the Intuit Dome. During the event, the SNL star wore a red Fire Department of the City of New York t-shirt, in honor of his dad Scott Matthew Davidson, who died on September 11, 2001, as a first responder at the Twin Towers.

As mentioned, Pete checked into a mental health facility in July, according to People. A source at the time said he “regularly goes to rehab for ‘tune ups’ and to take a mental break.” Earlier that same month, he said he kicked his addiction to “coke and ketamine and f**king all the pills,” but friends were concerned about his marijuana use.
The King of Staten Island lead has been open about dealing with PTSD and borderline personality disorder, struggles he credits to the trauma surrounding his dad’s death early in his life. He was just 7 at the time. It’s good to see him looking happy and healthy while out and about, and the subtle reference to his dad is very sweet!
