We were shocked to hear Pink non-chalantly recount a time in 1995 where she almost overdosed on drugs as a teenager.
We just had no idea that it had happened, so we’re not shocked that other people hadn’t known either — and are glad they pursued her for a little more information about it.
Here’s what she said about that dark, dark time:
“It wasn’t to the point of going to the hospital, but I remember getting up off the floor in the morning – and that was the last time I ever touched a drug again. It was also the day a DJ offered to let me sing on hip-hop night. His only caveat was that I couldn’t do drugs, so I didn’t. That’s the thing with me – once I make up my mind, I’m done.”
We can’t imagine a music landscape without Pink, so we’re very thankful she both didn’t die AND decided to quit!
Drugs don’t help anything, especially careers.
