This is absolutely disgusting and awful! What is wrong with people??
The pregnant stepmother of a severely malnourished 5-year-old claimed she had no idea just how unhealthy her 29-pound stepson was.
Tammie Bleimeyer, 33, a mother-of-six, and her husband Bradley Bleimeyer, 24, are both charged with felony child endangerment after they were keeping the little boy locked under their stairs.
Tammie, denied everything, saying she didn’t know:
“I was shocked. I have never seen him look like that and I have never seen him with his shirt off recently. I don’t know what caused him to look like that. I don’t know if it’s a health issue or something else like that. I don’t want to be like everyone else and assume the worse.”
She and her husband separated last summer and they no longer live together.
Everything was brought to light when the police were called during a fight between Tammie’s 16-year-old son and his stepfather. That’s when the teen pointed out the abused child.
When police went in her house, they found a mattress in a closet under the stairs. The child was apparently wearing a diaper, living right below the steps.
