At 2:18 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, you were probably terrified by a noise and message blaring from your nearby smartphone.

That message was from Donald Trump. We know, absolutely terrifying.
The system was put in place during President Barack Obama‘s tenure to alert people of a dire threat, but it didn’t get its first test until TODAY. The Trump administration will probably claim this messaging as another victory, which will be a surprise to no one. LOLz slash sigh.
The FEMA message read:
“THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
It didn’t take long, actually mere seconds, before Twitter started reacting.
Ch-ch-check out some of the best — and most chilling — responses to the alert (below)!
