Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hurtling toward a major rift caused by changing priorities??
No, we don’t mean this in the same way as the endless drama Harry is dealing with when it comes to his older brother Prince William and his dad King Charles. But there are some rumblings ongoing right now that, when read between the lines, suggest the potential for a serious divide to develop between the Duke of Sussex and his Duchess! Yes, really!!

Earlier this week, the 40-year-old prince jetted off to London to take part in a charity gala. (And no, in case you were wondering, he did not see his older bro or monarch dad while there.) Then, a couple days after that, Harry flew down to the southern African nation of Lesotho to meet with key allies of his charity Sentebale on the ongoing HIV/AIDS crisis in that region.
Meghan didn’t join him on any of that trip! She stayed back at their home in southern California’s swanky Montecito with their two children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. Oh, and she also stayed behind for an important reason. Besides the kids, we mean. Per People, it was easier for her to prep for the upcoming launch of her new Netflix show and the corresponding rise of her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.
Harry traveling for charity, Meghan staying in SoCal for show biz… Yes, insiders are now openly discussing the two diverging paths upon which Harry and Meghan find themselves. Only these sources are spinning it like it’s a good thing! Hmmm…
Speaking to People on Friday about Harry and Meghan’s physical separation as he travels for charity work and she stays behind for business development, an insider said:
“It’s clear that a twin-track approach is evolving.”
And those “twin-track” options are non-profit work for the Duke, and securing that bag for the Duchess:
“The Duke and Duchess have now hit their stride as individuals — not just as a couple. The Duke appears focused on his patronage work, and the Duchess focused on her entrepreneurial track.”
Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with either of those things. But to openly boast about how the couple has “hit their stride as individuals” while bragging about a “twin-track approach” naturally makes us wonder whether they won’t inevitably… drift apart? It happens to couples all the time. And it wasn’t so long ago that major relationship trouble rumors rocked the couple.

Anyways, the mag’s source spun the “twin-track” move as being a huge positive for the entire family. And they also claimed that there will be “joint efforts” ongoing to keep the couple connected other each other:
“An entrepreneurial and enterprise focus is going to be more the Duchess’s priority and the Duke will continue to champion his not-for-profit patronages. But there will be joint efforts around those cause-driven areas of work.”
They also preemptively pushed back on the idea they were apart for any reason other than being good parents. The insider assured us Meghan and Harry very specifically decided the Suits alum should stay behind this week with the kids:
“[It’s] as much a reflection on parenting priorities, in that one of them stays behind with the children.”
TBF, there is also the question of Harry’s ongoing legal battle over receiving security protection for his family back in the UK should they come visit. So, a lot of dynamics are at play here. But ultimately, the source tried to be as adamant as possible that the couple’s relationship is “functional and healthy” despite literally thousands of miles of distance between ’em:
“With their recent trips to Nigeria and Colombia, as well as their foundation-led events, it is still evident they show up together for the causes they jointly support. What we are seeing is a functional and healthy relationship with two working partners, not the contrary.”
Anyone else feel like this source doth protest too much? Coming out and saying everything is fine, they’re a great couple is actually doing the opposite of reassuring us. Just sayin’.
Are you buying what they’re selling, Perezcious readers?! After all, it is said that absence makes the heart grow fonder… But we’ve seen what happens when couples start living separate lives. And all this “twin-track” talk has us scratching our heads a little bit, if we’re being honest! What about U??
