We may have lost all faith in our government had they not come to their senses.
We are PLEASED to report that Raymond Johnson, a North Carolina man diagnosed with breast cancer, but unable to receive medicaid assistance because of his gender, HAS received government assistance!
Tonny Keck, director of the state’s health department, said:
“├óΓé¼┬ª We believe it is in the best interest of Mr. Johnson to deem him eligible for the Medicaid Breast and Cervical Cancer Program.”
North Carolina will submit his claim to the federal government to be reimbursed, however, there is still no certainty that the government will accept his claim.
The federal governments decision, however, will not affect Johnson’s treatment. If denied, the state will just have to shell out all of the money needed to cover his $10,000 visits to the hospital necessary to treat his cancer.
Raymond Johnson admits he is “relieved”, but acknowledges there are other men out there facing the same problem. “We’ve got more work to do. We’ve gotta fix this for other men,” he says.
Although 100 times less likely to occur in men, the American Cancer Society reports 2,140 news cases a year, with 450 ending in death.
