Reeve Carney Cast In Jeff Buckley Bio-Pic!

Uh-oh, Penn Badgley!

Looks like you’ve got some competition!

The actor has been tapped for a lead role in the in-development Jeff Buckley biopic, Greetings from Tim Buckley, but apparently, he’ll be facing another film focusing on the life of the late singer, this one starring Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark actor Reeve Carney!

The late singer’s mother, Mary Guibert, has reportedly approved of director Jake Scott‘s project with Reeve in the lead, and has given them exclusive access to his songs and personal archive!

She reveals:

“We are over the moon that Reeve has agreed to take on this challenging role. I’ve seen him perform several times. He’s been getting ready for this all his life. It certainly doesn’t hurt that he looks so much like Jeff. We are excited to have found in Reeve the perfect combination of musical prodigy, impish charm, innate intelligence and sensitivity to play Jeff.”

Wow!

We’re certainly interested in seeing how these two projects tackle Buckley’s life and music!

Poor RPatz, though! All he wanted was this role and now TWO of his peers have it, and he doesn’t!

Oh, well! Too bad, so sad!
