Regina Spektor Covers My Man For Boardwalk Empire Soundtrack

And we like. It’s different. It’s soulful. It’s what you’d expect from her.

There’s a slew of amazing artists featured on the Boardwalk Empire Soundtrack, out the beginning of September. Lots of jazz and bluesy voices , including Regina Spektor, who sings a classic song made famous by Fanny Brice (and then Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl), My Man!

You know, this is the third time we’ve heard a contemporary artist cover this song. All in different ways. There was Lea Michele, who performed it on Glee this past season and kept very closely to the Barbra version. Then, we found Lauren Ambrose performed a version of the song with her band, Lauren Ambrose and the Leisure Class. It’s a lot more like Regina’s, but we would say more brassy.

So, this begs the question….
