It’s about time Robby Hayes decided to break his silence on the growing sex tape scandal enveloping Todd Chrisley and his reality TV empire!
The 30-year-old Bachelorette alum went on the Housewives and Vanderpump podcast on Wednesday to dive deep into the growing controversy around the Chrisley Knows Best star and his now-estranged eldest daughter, Lindsie Chrisley. And judging by Hayes’ comments, poppa Chrisley may have some explaining to do!

First off, according to Robby, he and the 29-year-old Chrisley daughter didn’t exactly make a “sex tape,” as has been reported. Rather, they were inadvertently filmed by the puppy camera in the living room of Lindsie’s friend, where they had gotten it on while crashing together at the time. The Bachelor Nation member explained more about it in the interview (below):
“We did not make a sex tape. I’m not sitting there with a camera aimed down and trying to get the angles. Like, we got caught on the security camera, basically. It was a puppy camera in her friend’s living room, the couch we crashed on. There was no consent from either end, which kind of debunks [Todd calling it] a sex tape.”
Well this certainly changes the dynamic a bit, doesn’t it?!
To use the phrase “sex tape,” as the 50-year-old Chrisley patriarch has in recent public statements, sure makes you think of a very specific kind of video… [ahem, Kris Jenner, ahem]. But getting caught without consent on a puppy camera, and then being threatened with the release of the footage?! EXTREMELY not cool!!! And possibly illegal!
The Bachelor in Paradise alum noted how the tape’s existence continues to be an ongoing issue for both him and Lindsie, as well (below):
“We’re in the middle of dealing with it. I was just talking with [Lindsie] this past weekend in Atlanta, two days ago.”
Wow!
Now, we don’t know exactly when the tape was filmed, and that may still matter. Lindsie announced back in 2016 that she was divorcing husband Will Campbell. The two had been married since 2012, but were estranged for the next two years as the divorce worked its way through the court system. Eventually, though, they were actually able to reconcile late in 2018, leading Lindsie to pull back the papers and stand by her man.
But it’s still unclear whether Lindsie and Robby had their thing within those two years of estrangement, or more recently, after she officially returned to Campbell.
The elder Chrisley has openly accused his daughter of “extramarital relationships” with Robby and fellow Bachelorette alum Josh Murray “since August of 2016,” but obviously, if Lindsie and Will were separated at the time, those alleged flings may not be nearly as scandalous or inappropriate as Todd might want the public to believe.
So many questions…
