A few months ago we talked about Netflix’s first original series directed by David Fincher and starring Kevin Spacey, which the company acquired by outbidding television networks like HBO and AMC with a $100 million commitment.
House of Cards, the 26-episode political thriller based off of a British miniseries of the same name, may have found its leading lady too!
Robin Wright is in talks to star alongside Spacey in the series slated to begin filming in the Spring of 2012.
This is definitely huge and we can see this changing the entertainment landscape forever if the show is successful.
Based off of David Fincher’s track record, it’s pretty hard to believe it WON’T be successful.
Plus, Netflix has over 20 million subscribers, many of which choose the online based entertainment over cable. We’re sure 20 million people wouldn’t mind some original programming!
Since it only costs $8 bucks a month for the most basic service, we can see a lot of people subscribing for the original programming on top of their cable bill too!
