Rosario Dawson Arrested In Washington, D.C. During Political Protest -- See What She Has To Say Right After Being Released From Custody!

Don’t ever say Rosario Dawson isn’t passionate about politics!
The actress was arrested on Friday afternoon in Washington, D.C. while taking part in a protest with Democracy Spring, fighting against the scourge of money in politics.

The Daredevil star was part of a non-violent protest on Capitol Hill, where she and about a dozen other people crossed a police line and sat down in protest. From there, they were arrested — and then released just a few hours later.
First, check out Rosario and a larger group protesting as the police inform them of their arrests (below) before seeing Dawson’s reaction to the legal incident:

Her group, which wasn’t going to be arrested at first, apparently moved their protest closer to a forbidden zone, and police were forced to take action.
It was not immediately clear what she was arrested for, though TMZ reports many of those arrested in her group were charged with obstruction and other similar offenses.

Like we mentioned, she was released shortly after being arrested.
Never one to shy away from political controversy, she told The Young Turks news organization all about it (below) upon her release:

She has a lot of passionate perspectives on all things politics there, but one big one stands out: get money away from the election process. Rosario was willing to go to jail for that, as were several dozen other people, and she obviously feels very strongly for it.
We’ll see if her arrest accomplishes gets any more eyes on the issue.
