Really, Hollywood?
Last week, Rose McGowan created some buzz after she shared an objectifying casting note for an audition on social media.
The Charmed star also called out the male actor attached to the project whose name “rhymes with Madam Panhandler” — and later confirmed she was referring to Adam Sandler!

But the 41-year-old’s insight into the still sexist casting environment caused more of a stir than she planned.
On Wednesday, McGowan revealed that she had been fired by her agent for speaking out about the audition! She posted on her Twitter:
I just got fired by my wussy acting agent because I spoke up about the bullshit in Hollywood. Hahaha. #douchebags #awesome #BRINGIT

It doesn’t seem like she’s losing too much sleep over it! This week, the actress opened up about similar issues from her previous agents, saying:
“I had a very big agent who basically did the mind-meld on me: ‘Do this movie about wrestling.’ I threw the script in the garbage three times because that’s where it deserved to be. It was Ready to Rumble. It was a lot of money. She just didn’t care, and I mistook her for someone who was a strong woman. What she really was was a mercenary woman. And there’s a difference.”
It sounds like McGowan is definitely used to a certain traditional culture in the film industry!
There are plenty of agents in Hollywood. Hopefully, she will find representation that shares her same integrity!
